ClearRate is a small, independent website offering free finance calculators and guides for freelancers and small-business owners. This policy explains what information this site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. If you have questions, use the Contact page.
Calculator inputs stay on your device
The calculators on this site run entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. The numbers you type — your salary target, invoice amounts, loan amounts, tax rates, and similar figures — are processed on your own device. They are not sent to our server, stored in a database, or shared with anyone. Closing the page removes them from view, and refreshing the page resets the calculator to its default values.
Information we may collect
When you visit this site, standard web-server logs may record your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, and the time of your visit, as most websites do. We use this information only to keep the site working, understand which pages are useful, and detect abuse. We do not sell personal information, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors.
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in your message, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message. We use it only to reply to you, and we do not share it with third parties except as required by law.
Cookies and third-party advertising

This site is intended for adults running a business or freelancing. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we hold. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for site operation and security, and contact emails are kept only as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence. Because calculator inputs are never sent to us, there is nothing to retain or delete for them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when advertising or analytics are added. The “Last updated” date at the top will change, and the updated policy will apply from the date it is posted. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
